WALANG problema sa Malakanyang kung balak na mag-courtesy call ni Pambansang Kamao at Sarangani Cong. Manny Pacman habang patuloy ang iringan ng magkabilang panig dahil sa tax fraud case laban sa huli.
Sinabi ni Deputy Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte na “welcome” si Pacman na makatuntong ng Malakanyang at makadaupang-palad ang chief executive.
“Bakit naman po hindi? That will have to be processed in the same way that we process all the requests,” ani Usec. Valte.
Sa ngayon aniya ay wala pa siyang naririnig o nalalaman na request mula sa kampo ni Pacman.
Sa kabilang dako, inulit ng Malakanyang na hindi naman sini-single out at pinepersonal ng pamahalaan si Pacman sa hindi nabayaran nitong buwis.
“This is not about him alone (others that are—) actions that are not being done because you’ve seen the Bureau of Customs na every other week nagpa-file po sila ng charges. Ang BIR din po, every other week, nagpa-file ho ng charges, so this is not… Again, this is not to single him out. As the President said why would it be harassment? As Commissioner Henares has said, Congressman Pacquiao was given ample time, more than ample time to comply with, not just the summons of the BIR, but (also) with other requests for the submission of documentation,” ayon kay Usec. Valte.
Samantala, mananatili naman sa majority bloc ng Kongreso si Pacman kaya’t malabong mapasali siya sa minority bloc dahil sa pagrerebelde sa pamahalaan bunsod ng paghabol sa kanya ng BIR sa kanyang buwis.
