Nanawagan ang Simbahang Katoliko sa mga Pinoy na gayahin ang mga halimbawa ng mga idedeklarang santo na sina Blessed John Paul II at Blessed John XXIII.
Ayon kay Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas, bise presidente ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), sa pamamagitan ng pagsasabuhay sa mga halimbawa ng dalawang dating Papa ay mapatutunayan ng mga Pilipino ang debosyon sa mga ito.
“The real meaning of devotion to the saints is imitation. We must learn from the heroic patience of John Paul II and the constant happy spirit of John XXIII,” sinabi ni Villegas sa isang panayam.
Ito rin ang panawagan ni Malolos Bishop Jose Oliveros.
“We should not only prepare for the canonization but rather emulate the holy lives of the two new saints. Let us be reminded of what John Paul II said about the role of Catholic Philippines in the evangelization of Asia,” sabi ni Oliveros.
