TOP SEED Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray set up a quarterfinal clash after similar straight-set victories on Monday (Tuesday morning in Manila).
Djokovic beat 22nd seed Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany, 6-1 7-5 6-4, while Murray downed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, 7-5 7-5 6-4.
Despite his low seeding, Murray has some positive memories of playing Wimbledon champion Djokovic in the grand slams. The Scotsman beat the Serb to win the 2012 U.S. Open and the 2013 Wimbledon for his two grand slam titles.
In the distaff side, Serena Williams reached the quarterfinals of a grand slam for the first time this season following a 6-3, 6-3 win over Kaia Kanepi. Noli Cruz
