Komisyon para ibangon ang Bohol, lilikhain

Isinulong ni Sen. Grace Poe ang paglilikha ng isang komisyon ng gobyerno na popondohan ng P20 bilyon pa a sukatin ang lawak ng pinsala ng 7.2 magnitude na lindol na tumama sa Central Visayas noong nakaraang Oktubre 15 at

magsasagawa ng long- and short-term development sa mga apektadong lugar.



Sinabi ni Poe na ang kanyang Senate Bill No. 1987 ay para sa mga mamamayan ng Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, at Northern Mindanao.

Naghain din sina Bohol Representatives Arthur C. Yap, Erico Aristotle C. Aumentado at Rene R. Relampagos ng katumbas na panukala sa House of Representatives.

Ayon sa National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, iniwang patay ng lindol ang 222 katao at 976 ang nasugatan at walo ang nawawala. Ang komisyon, tatawaging “Bakod Central Visayas,” ay magbabalangkas ng mga prayoridad para sa relief and rehabilitation ng mga apektadong lugar at magsasagawa ng development plans.

Tinukoy ni Poe ang malawak na pinsala sa public infrastructure, tourist attractions at world heritage sites. Ang sentro ng lindo ay nasa Sagbayan sa lalawigan ng Bohol.

“The provinces of Bohol and Cebu – famed for centuries-old churches and major tourism areas – were badly damaged as experts warned that rebuilding tourist attractions would take months, if not years. The quake was immense that ground shaking was also felt in Siquijor, Negros Occidental and provinces in northern Mindanao,” aniya.

Sinabi ni Poe na bumalik na sa normal ang mga operasyon sa Tagbilaran Airport sa Bohol sa kabila ng mga iniulat na pinsala sa airport terminal dahil sa lindol.

“Municipal halls of at least eight towns, several classrooms and hospitals were partially or totally damaged while roads and bridges were destroyed which rendered them impassable and left several areas isolated,” dagdag niya. – Mario Casayuran
