On behalf of the House of Representatives, I extend my warmest greetings to the Filipino nation as we usher in the year 2014 filled with hope and unified spirit despite all the challenges we faced as a people.
The trials that we confronted in the past year affirmed our ability to rise above the most difficult of circumstances through our patience, perseverance, and hard work, our charity and cooperation, and most of all, with our strong conviction and belief in our individual and collective abilities, and with abundant faith in the overflowing grace of the Almighty.
We look forward to the year ahead, filled with gratitude for those who have unselfishly helped us in the past, with optimism in our ability to surmount the difficulties that lie ahead, and with undeterred resolve to make this coming year better and more prosperous for us all.
With a renewed commitment to be a visionary Congress – one that will anticipate the needs of the nation and steer the country towards progress, and on behalf of the House of Representatives, I wish everyone a peaceful and prosperous New Year.
