“His father William came over last November and personally talked and clarified to PSC Chairman Richie Garcia and NCFP president Pichay about the situation of his son. Medyo nagkaroon kasi talaga ng confusion about the schedule of Wesley to play in the SEA Games,” sabi ni Gonzales.
“We are fully aware of his priority, which is his education, before the SEA Games pa. His father explained to us that Wesley has his own management of schedule which came to confusion when President Pichay announced and decided not to join the SEA Games dahil nga sa ibang mga event ang inilagay,” sabi pa ni Gonzales.
“Because of the announcement na hindi sasali, Wesley has set his schedule and set his priority on his studies. He cannot change also his prior commitment. But now, he will be joining us in the World Championships and his father says also that he will stay as a member of the Philippine Team,” paliwanag pa ni Gonzales.
“His father also assured us that Wesley is not shifting his allegiance. Although he was chosen as coach of the US college team, his father said he will remain part of the Philippine team,” ayon pa kay Gonzales.
“We miss at least three gold medals, in the blitz, transfer and random. Malakas tayo as a team especially if Wesley is there. – Angie Oredo
