PSC Laro’t Saya, ilulunsad sa Cebu at Bacolod

Isasagawa na rin sa dinarayong siyudad ng Cebu at Bacolod ang inoorganisa ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) na family oriented at grassroots sports development program na Laro’t-Saya, Play N’ Learn.

Sinabi ni PSC Chairman Richie Garcia na nakatakdang simulan ang programa na libreng itinuturo ang iba’t-ibang isports sa dalawang lungsod sa susunod na linggo upang unti-unting maibsan at malimutan ng mga komunidad ang epekto at nalasap na kahirapan dulot ng dumaang bagyong Yolanda.



“We will be launching next week the PSC Laro’t Saya program in Cebu and Bacolod. Our program was endorsed by the Office of the President as its objective is to get children and parents be involved in sports. While we try to look for possible talent discovery, our intentions is just to have the family have some fun and bonding time,” sabi ni Garcia.

Maliban sa Cebu at Bacolod, sisimulan na din ang pagsasagawa ng programa sa mga lungsod ng Taguig at San Juan.

“We are now in the process of teaching how to implement the program to our local government units in our aim that the program will be adopted nationwide,” sabi pa ni Garcia.

Matapos masimulan ang programa noong Pebrero, isasagawa na ang pinaka-highlight ng program na pagsasagawa ng aero marathon sa Disyembre 15 kasabay ang friendly games sa pagitan ng nabuong dalawang koponan mula sa tinuruan ng Laro’t-Saya kontra sa Futkaleros ng Tondo at Homeless Football Club.

“It is the culmination of what they learn from the program,” sabi lamang ni PSC Laro’t-Saya project manager Dr. Larry Domingo Jr. “Titingnan natin iyong natutunan nila during our weekly sessions kung physically fit at ma-test natin iyung endurance nila,” sabi pa ni Domingo Jr.

Umabot naman sa ikalawa sa pinakamaraming dumalo na kabuuang 449 katao sa Burnham Green sa Luneta kung saan 287 ang sumalit sa aerobics, arnis (25), badminton (55), chess (15), football (87), karatedo (20) habang ang volleyball (60).

Mayroon naman 279 na nagpartisipa sa limang sports sa Laro’t Saya sa Q.C Memorial Circle kung mayroon ang aerobics na 220, arnis (8), badminton (16), football (22) at taekwondo (13). – Angie Oredo
