Navotas LGU remind residents to maximize use of Free Philhealth Membership Cards

Navotas City Health Department (NCHD), under the directive of Mayor John Rey Tiangco, is set to intensify campaign for the maximum use of sponsored Philhealth Membership cards.

The project, which intends to provide medical assistance to the constituents of the city, now has 31,000 members on top of the 15,904 members sponsored by the national government.

NCHD, in line with its effort to disseminate information on the benefits or advantages of the Philhealth card, has led several Philhealth Caravans in the fourteen various barangays in Navotas and has put up a Philhealth One Stop Shop (POSS) at the first floor, Navotas City Hall where the residents can apply and claim their cards.

“The residents should be informed through the barangay health centers that their cards are renewed automatically every year and can also be used in regular hospital check-up,” he said.

Acting City Health Officer Dra. Liberty Domingo said in affirmation that the health centers will be directed the same to also cope with their last month’s “high utilization rate” of locally-sponsored Philhealth cards.

The LGU also pushes through with the campaign to assure that the first government-owned hospital in the city, which will be operational next year, can support the medical needs of its residents through the use of Philhealth benefits.
