Inihayag ni Parañaque City Mayor Edwin L. Olivarez ang hangarin na lumikha ng karagdagang trabaho sa pagbubukas ng bagong mga negosyo sa lungsod katulad ng mga outsourcing center, hotel at casino sa susunod na 12 buwan.
Sinabi ni Olivarez sa pagbubukas ng job fair sa city hall grounds kung saan inaalok ang 20,000 trabaho sa pagbubukas ng Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) Entertainment City dahil magiging fully operational ang apat na casino resort sa lungsod.
Ayon sa Alkalde, sa kasalukuyan ang Solaire Resorts and Casino lamang ang bukas sa Entertainment City na matatagpuan sa Manila Bay reclamation area. Aniya, isang set ang magbubukas ng hotel-casino complex sa loob ng anim na buwan habang may dalawa pa na nasa planning stages na.
“We also expect 15,000 new jobs in the BPO sector because the three SM malls in Parañaque, namely SM Sucat, SM Bicutan and SM BF Homes, are all planning to open BPO centers that will need 5,000 workers each,” sabi ni Mayor Olivarez.
“What we are doing in Parañaque is to make us business-friendly to attract more investors, which in turn will translate to more jobs,” sabi pa ni Olivarez.
“We aim to be competitive, and we shall continue to offer incentives to businesses that are setting up shop in the city,” dagdag pa ng opisyal. – Nannet Valle
