Nadal rallies to set up Rosol rematch

RAFAEL NADAL rallied from a set down to bury the first round misery of his 2013 Wimbledon campaign on Tuesday and set up a rematch with Lukas Rosol, the Czech who stunned him the second round two years ago.

The Spaniard, bidding for a 15th Grand Slam title, also became just the 11th man to record 700 tour wins following his 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 victory over Slovakia’s Martin Klizan.

Nadal was knocked out in the first round at Wimbledon last year by Steve Darcis, a Belgian journeyman who hasn’t won a match since. Twelve months earlier, Rosol took Nadal out in five sets.

Earlier, Roger Federer began his campaign for an eighth Wimbledon title with a 6-1, 6-1, 6-3 victory over Paolo Lorenzi, who has now lost all of his 13 career Grand Slam matches. Noli Cruz
