TINIYAK ng Malakanyang na hindi na mauulit ang matinding dayaan noong 2004 at ang kontrobersiyal na “Hello Garci” o sa bansa sa nalalapit na 2016 presidential elections.
Kaya nga sinabi ni Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda kay Vice President Jejomar Binay na walang dapat ikatakot dahil malabong magkaroon ng high-tech cheating sa nalalapit na halalan.
Kung para sa bise presidente ay kailangan lamang na manaig ang mapayapa, tapat at maayos na halalan sa bansa ay kaisa niya ang gobyernong Aquino rito.
“We certainly share the advocacy of…That has been from the very start our advocacy: for a clean and free elections. We do want to avoid the situation in 2004. And the legitimacy of the elected official, the legitimacy of someone as a public official is always based on the legitimacy of the elections. So public officials — elective public officials, what we say, are elected — are elected at the sufferance of the governed. So, we want to make sure that the process is legitimate. We want to make sure that the elections are clean and honest. And, therefore, of course, it is something that everyone will be glad to if everybody will join our advocacy and I think it’s a no-brainer for anyone not to join our advocacy for a clean and free elections,” anito.
Kaugnay nito, tungkulin din ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) na siguruhin na malinis, malaya at tapat ang eleksyon sa 2016.
Ayaw namang lagyan ng malisya ni Sec. Lacierda ang tila estratehiya ng kampo ni VP BInay na mina-mind set na sa publiko na kapag hindi siya nanalo sa pagka-pangulo sa 2016 ay dinaya siya sa pamamagiyan ng high- tech cheating.
