TINIYAK ng Malakanyang na hindi bababa o malilipat sa Metro Manila (MM) ang security threat na umiiral ngayon sa Lungsod ng Davao.
Sinabi ni Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda na ang target talaga ng security threat ay ang Lungsod na pinamumunuan ni Mayor Rodrigo Duterte at hindi ang MM.
“The information we have is that it is limited to Davao City. It’s a proactive stance to envelop and to ensure the security of the other provinces there, near Davao City,” ayon kay Sec. Lacierda.
Sa ngayon aniya ay bina-validate pang mabuti ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang security threat.
“I just spoke to…Sorry, I don’t have firsthand information here but I just spoke to Colonel Demi Zagala. They are validating the threat,” ayon kay Sec. Lacierda.
Wala naman aniyang dapat na ipangamba ang mga Davaoenos dahil naka-alert naman ang AFP Eastern Mindanao Command bago pa man tawagan ni Pangulong Benigno Aquino III Mayor Duterte ukol sa security threat.
Ibinasura naman ni Sec. Lacierda ang posibilidad na may kinalaman sa nilulutong destabilization plot laban sa Aquino administration ang nasabing banta.
“There was a statement remember made by (political analyst) Mon Casiple on destabilization efforts but we did not — we verified and there were none,” ayon sa opisyal.
Kamakailan ay inilagay sa heightened alert ng Davao City security officials ang kanilang lugar matapos na makatanggap ng babala si Mayor Duterte mula kay Pangulong Aquino.
Ang threat alert sa Davao City ay iniugnay sa ‘di umano’y pagkakatakas ng bomb-making terrorist Abdel Basit Usman mula sa mga awtoridad sa isang raid sa isang guerrilla camp.
Samantala, wala namang impormasyon si Sec. Lalcierda na bukod sa grupo ni Usman ay may iba pang grupo na nais na maghasik ng gulo sa Davao City.
“I will not be able to confirm that or deny that. I wouldn’t know,” diing pahayag nito.
