Inendorso ng chairman ng House committee on appropriations noong Lunes bilang formal amendment sa panukalang P2.268-trillion national budget ang realignment ng P25.4 billion Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) sa anim na ahensiya ng gobyerno, at ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ang makakukuha ng pinakamalaking alokasyon para sa infrastructure projects.
Sa House deliberations sa 2014 General Appropriations Act, sinabi ni Davao City Rep. Isidro Ungab na hindi na mahahawakan pa ng mga mambabatas ang realigned fund allocation, dahil nagpasya silang burahin ang pork barrel fund at ang implementing agencies ang may “final say” sa pagpapatupad ng proyekto.
Sa P25.4 billion PDAF, na kinabibilangan ng P200 million allocation ng Vice President, P9.65 bilyon ang ililipat sa DPWH; P4.71
bilyon sa Department of Social Welfare and Development para sa “assistance to persons in crisis”; tig-P3.69 bilyon para sa Department of Health o hospitalization and medical assistance at Department of Labor and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) para sa employment at training assistance; P2.66 bilyon sa Commission on Higher Education (CHED) para sa education at scholarship; at P1.02 bilyon sa Department of Education (DepEd) para sa education at scholarships.
Sinabi ni Ungab na isang komite ang bubuuin para tumanggap ng lahat ng proposed amendments ng kanyang mga kasamahan sa House Bill No. 2630 o General Appropriations Bill. – Charissa Luci
