NAGPAKITANG-GILAS agad sina star players Derrick Rose at Pau Gasol para suwagin ang New York Knicks, 104-80, kahapon sa 2014-15 National Basketball Association (NBA) regular season.
Tumipa ang bagong miyembro ng Chicago na si Gasol ng 21 points at 11 rebounds habang may 13 puntos at limang assist si former NBA MVP Rose upang hiyain ang Knicks sa kanilang lugar.
Galing sa LA Lakers si Gasol at bago magsimula ang pre-season ay kinuha ng Bulls ang kanyang serbisyo habang galing naman sa matagal na pahinga si Rose dahil sa kanyang injury.
“It was real fun being on the bench,” ani Rose. “Being able to laugh, talk basketball to your teammates whenever they come back to the sideline.”
Tumapos si reserve Taj Gibson ng 22 points para hiyain ang sina coach Derek Fisher at star player na si Carmelo Anthony.
Unang game ni Fisher bilang coach ng New York.
“I think it’s a lot of pressure off his shoulders because we have, I think, a variety of weapons, so he doesn’t have that pressure on himself to be able to score and force things,” patungkol ni Gasol kay Rose.
Bumira lang ng 14 puntos, apat na rebounds at tatlong assists si Anthony kaya naman halftime pa lang ay natambakan na agad ang Knicks.
“Embarrassed? No, I am not embarrassed,” ani Anthony. “We will get better. I believe that. I know that and we have another shot at it tomorrow night.”
Sa ibang NBA resulta, nanaig ang Indiana Pacers laban sa Philadelphia 76ers, 103-91, habang nagwagi ang Miami Heat kontra Washington Wizards, 107-95. ELECH DAWA
