MARIKINA Mayor Del De Guzman (second from left) and Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Bro. Armin Luistro, FSC (second from right) lead the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement for the very first ASEAN Schools Games in the Philippines which will be hosted by Marikina City. An estimated 1,500 young athletes from ASEAN countries are expected to participate and compete in various sports disciplines such as athletics, swimming, badminton, golf, lawn tennis, sepak takraw, gymnastics, table tennis, basketball, volleyball and wushu, which will be held in different locations in Marikina City. Witnessing the MOA signing are Marikina Chief Executive Assistant Willfredo Reyes (far left), and DepEd Undersecretary Rizalino Rivera (far right), and other officials of DepEd, city government of Marikina, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. The ASEAN Schools Games is on November 29 to December 7 this year.
