I just don’t remember kung late o early 90s nang magkita kami ng schoolmate kong si Jhun Herras somewhere in Binondo, Manila. He was then relatively young and good-looking and was bubbling with excitement when he told me about his son who, purportedly, would want to penetrate show business.
Typical of fathers, he was most enthusiastic in telling me how proud he was of his son who has taken supposedly after his good looks.
Many years hence, I saw this good-looking teenager who eventually won the much-coveted position at the first Starstruck of GMA.
It was only then that I learned that he was Jun Herras’ son.
Somewhere along the way, I bumped into Jun again and was surprised to see how he had considerably matured. Medyo thinning na ang kanyang hairline and was quite potbellied.
A far cry from my classmate at the University of Nueva Caceres when I was still taking up an Engineering course prior to my transfer to the Ateneo de Naga College (now University).
Anyway, in one of our annual (this was then not now) birthday parties when my son Christopher was still alive, Jun put in an appearance and together we reminisced our younger days in school.
The other day, while I was watching television, there was this newsflash announcing the demise of Mark Herras’ dad. I was naturally stunned.
Today, it’s all over the papers. Jun has really finally joined his Creator.
Sad naman.
Indeed how time really flies. Naiiyak daw si Mark kapag nakikita ang old pic nilang mag-ama kung saan itinutulak nito ang stroller habang nakasakay ang baby pang aktor.
Incidentally, if Christopher were still alive, he would have been Mark’s age – 27 years old.
Rest in peace Jun. You will always be missed!

Hahahahahahahahahaha! If rumors are to be taken seriously, this gay icon was supposedly already able to taste and savor the succulent dingdong of this controversial hunk actor in one of their libidinous encounter a couple of months ago.
Anyhow, the memory of their memorable ‘get together’ continues to linger in the mind of this moneyed and well-connected gay icon to the point that he purportedly would want to include him in the festival movie that he’ll soon be doing for his mother studio. Hahahahahahahahahaha!
Tipong one encounter is not enough since the guy is not only allegedly ‘gifted’ (gifted daw talaga, o! Hahahahaha!) but appetizing as well.
