SINILABAN ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) ang may P2.25-bilyong halaga ng droga sa isang pasilidad sa Cavite town kaninang umaga, Nobyembre 11.
May kabuuang 557,719.4 gramo ng Methamphetamine hydrochloride o shabu, ephedrine, cocaine, marijuana, diazepam o valium at mga expired medicines ang sinunog sa pamamagitan ng isang thermal decomposition sa Integrated Waste Management, Inc. sa Bgy. Aguado, Trece Martirez City dakong 9 a.m.
Ang thermal decomposition ay ang proseso na ang iba’t ibang compound ay winasak sa pamamagitan ng pag-apply ng init.
“Majority of the burned shabu were seized from big anti-drug raids that happened last year in Subic, Zambales; Lipa, Batangas and those turned over by the Quezon City Police District,” pahayag ni PDEA Director General Arturo Cacdac, Jr.
Mahigit sa 400 kilo ng shabu ang nadiskubre ng awtoridad sa isang rented house sa Subic, Zambales na humantong sa pagdakip sa anim na drug personalities noong Aug. 11, 2013.
Sinalakay din ng awtoridad noong Dec. 25, 2013 ang isang storage facility sa loob ng isang game fowl farm sa Lipa, Batangas na may P420-milyong halaga ng shabu ang nakumpiska. Ang nasabing farm ay inuupahan ng mga miyembro ng Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel.
Sinaksihan naman ang pagsunog ng droga ng mga PDEA officials, representatives mula sa Department of Justice (DoJ), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), non-government organizations (NGOs) at media partners. ROBERT TICZON
