PORMAL nang binuksan ang kauna-unahang interactive Telemedicine system sa bansa.
Pinangunahan ito ni Department of Health-MIMAROPA Regional Director Eduardo Janairo kasama si Governor Carmencita Reyes sa Dr. Damian J. Reyes Provincial Hospital sa Boac, Marinduque.
Ang Telemedicine system ay magagamit sa pagsusuri at paggagamot ng pasyente na nangangailangan ng agarang lunas kahit nasa malayong komunidad.
“This is one big leap for the health care industry because we now have the ability to provide interactive healthcare to patients in far flung areas through a video call using modern technology and telecommunications. Medical examinations can now be done through a live video conversation,” ayon pa Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo.
Sa Telemedicine system, gagamit aniya ng mga healthcare providers sa mga pasyente at sa pamamagitan naman ng internet o live video ay maihahatid sa mga doktor ang datos ng pasyente para sila ay matingnan at sa follow-up treatment sa itinakdang oras.
“A doctor from Manila can virtually hear a patient’s heartbeat from Marinduque. He can even ask you to cough, inhale or exhale and give you an initial analysis of your health condition.”
“Monitoring a patient’s recovery through mobile technology will reduce outpatient visits and enable remote prescription verification and drug administration, reducing the cost of medical care for the patient.” paliwanag pa ng direktor.
Paliwanag ni Janairo na ang Marinduque ang napiling magsimula ng nasabing system sa kadahilanang wala silang pribadong ospital at limitado ang kanilang local health professionals, may kakulangan sa kagamitan kung saan ang mga pasyente umano ay kinakailangan pang magtungo sa ibang ospital sa kalapit probinsya tulad ng Lucena, Batangas at Calapan City.
Naglaan naman ang DoH-MIMAROPA ng P10M para sa instolasyon ng satellites na gagamitin sa Telemedicine system.
Tatlong hospital naman ang magkakaugnay at magsisilbing main hub ng sistema. Kabilang dito ang Sta. Cruz District Hospital, Torijos Municipal Hospital at Dr. Damian Reyes Provincial Hospital.
Dadalhin naman ang mga Telemedicine equipment sa Rural Health Units at Barangay Health Stations tulad ng Quantum Magnetic Resonance Analyzer (QMRA) at RxBox device. JOCELYN TABANGCURA-DOMENDEN
