PRAYORIDAD ng Department of Health (DoH) na pagkalooban ng medical benefits, mga discounts at iba pang mga pribilihiyo ang mga Persons with Disabilities (PWD) sa rehiyon sa MIMAROPA.
Ayon kay MIMAROPA Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo, ang health programs para sa mga PWD’s ay prayoridad sa nasabing rehiyon upang masiguro na mabibigyan sila ng equal access sa health care.
Ang nasabing programa ay bahagi ng isinagawang selebrasyon ng 13th National Disablity Prevention and Rehabilitation week na ginanap sa Provincial Convention Center sa Boac, Marinduque.
Hinikayat ni Janairo ang mga local government na iparehistro ang.mga PWDs upang kilalanim sila at mabigyan ng tamang pagtrato at intervention para sa kanilang pagkalinga.
Katulong sa pagpaparehistro sa rehiyon ang Department of Social Welfare and Developments National Household Trageting System (NHTS) at Person with Disability Affiars Office (PDAO).
Magsanay din ng mga health workers ng basic sign language para magkaroon ng komunikasyon sa kanila.
“We are already coordinating with the local governments in the region for the registration of PWD’s in every barangay and once they area identified we can provide them essential health provisions and the benefits that are afforded to thrm by the Magna Carta for Persons with Dissabilities” ayon kay Janairo.
