Tugon sa power crisis, ‘di minamadali ni PNoy

SINABI ng Malakanyang na hindi nagmamadali si Pangulong Benigno Aquino III na magkaroon ng emergency powers para tugunan ang nakaambang na power crisis sa 2015.

Ayon kay Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda, kailangan munang makausap ni Pangulong Aquino ang kanyang mga boss sa bagay na ito bago pa niya ikonsidera na tanggapin ang emergency powers kontra power crisis.

Kung sakali man aniya na may nakaloob o bahagi sa State Of the Nation Address (SONA) technical report na opsyon ng Pangulong Aquino na gumamit ng emergency powers para resolbahin ang power crisis sa susunod na taon ay hindi naman ito binanggit ni Pangulong Aquino sa kanyang SONA.

“If you read the SONA technical report, it was a… Those are the… An option was provided. But if you noticed also, the State of the Nation Address of the President did not mention that, so… The President… Secretary Petilla presented a slew of options for the President. The President believes that let’s talk to the people first. Let’s see how we address the situation. We recognize that there’s going to be some shortage on 2015, so the President has instructed us on that—has instructed Secretary Petilla to look at the options available,” ani Sec. Lacierda.

Sa kabilang dako, hindi naman itinanggi ni Sec. Lacierda na ayaw ni Pangulong Aquino na mabigyan ito ng emergency powers dahil sa wala namang direktang pag-ayaw mula sa Punong Ehekutibo sa bagay na ito.

“The slew of options have been provided—has been provided to the President, so we will… The first step they asked—instruct[ed]… The first step that the President instructed Secretary Petilla is to speak to those concerned people. As to whether he will declare an emergency or not, I have no information at this point. So he wants Secretary Petilla to address those concerns by, first, talking to the concerned people,” ang pahayag ng opisyal.

Sa lalong madaling panahon naman aniya ay nais ni Pangulong Aquino na magkaroon ng resulta ang pakikipag-usap ni Sec. Petilla sa mga kinauukulang indibidwal at magiging rekomendasyon nito sa usapin. Kris Jose
