Tiniyak ng Malacañang na gumagawa ito ng hakbang upang mapabilis ang resolusyon sa kaso ng pamamaslang ng 58 katao sa Ampatuan, Maguindanao apat na taon na ang nakararaan.
At dahil ang kaso ay kumplikado, sinabi ni Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte na tanging magagawa lamang ng Malacañang ay umasa na mapabilis pa ang paglilitis sa mga suspek na sangkot sa pagpatay sa 58 katao noong Nobyembre 23, 2009.
“The hearing of the case at least at the regional trial court stage, we’re hoping, I think, everybody is really hoping that it would go faster,” sabi ni Valte sa panayam ng radyo dzRB.
“Our prosecutors have stuck to the instructions of the President to avoid delays on the part of the government as well as to fight any attempts of delay on the part of the defense,” dagdag niya.
Giit ang prinsipyo ng “separation of powers” sa mga sangay ng pamahalaan, tumangging magkomento ang opisyal sa pahayag ni Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 221 Jocelyn Solis-Reyes na pipilitin niyang tapusin ang kaso bago magtapos ang termino ni Pangulong Aquino sa 2016.
“At this point the most we can do is do our part, and hope that the rest of the other part will do its share as well,” ani Valte. Dahil sa bagal sa pagsulong ng kaso, hiniling na ng pamilya ng mga napaslang na biktima sa United Nations na brasuhin ang gobyerno ng Pilipinas na bigyan na lang sila ng kompensasyon.
“From what I understand, this is not the fi rst time that this particular news has come up that they filed case in the United Nations, or at least a complaint. We will check with the other branches or at least to the other offices in the Executive if they
have received any documents from the United Nations on this particular complaint,” ani Valte. – JC Bello Ruiz
