Gagayahin ng Thailand ang child protection policy ng Pilipinas, ipinabatid ni Department of Education (DepEd) Undersecretary for Legal and Legislative Affairs Alberto T. Muyot.
Ayon kay Muyot, nakipagpulong sa DepEd ang mga opisyal ng Ministry of Education-Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) ng Thailand, at nagpahayag ng intensiyon na kopyahin ang CPP ng Pilipinas.
Sa pulong, isa-isang ipinaliwanag ni Muyot sa mga delegado ng OBEC ang CPP sa peer-to-peer bullying, gender-based discrimination, physical assault, psychological punishment, public ridicule at sexual harassment sa paaralan.
“Its [CPP] objective is to promote a zero-tolerance policy for any act of child exploitation, violence, discrimination, and other forms of abuse,” paliwanag ni Muyot.
Binanggit niya na kapapasa pa lang ng Kongreso sa Republic Act 10627 o Anti-Bullying Act na naglalahad ng mga hakbang na dapat ipatupad sa mga paaralang elementarya at sekundarya. – Mac Cabreros
