Bahrain, tatanggap ng Pinoy workers mula Saudi

Inihayag ni Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz na nagbigay ng katiyakan si Bahraini Labor Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan sa pangangalap ng mga skilled Filipino worker sa Bahrain.


Ayon kay Baldoz, malaking tsansa ito para maging alternatibo ng mga overseas Filipino worker (OFW) na napauwi mula sa Saudi Arabia at sa iba pang bansa sa Middle East.



“If they would like to seek re-employment overseas, Bahrain and other Middle East countries are a good market for them since they are already adjusted with the Arab culture and they also have the advantage of knowing their language,” sabi ng opisyal.


Tiniyak ni Baldoz na ligtas at walang panganib ang destinasyon ng OFWs sa Bahrain at tinatayang may 60,000 manggagawang Pinoy sa nasabing bansa.


“I know they cannot immediately decide what they will do upon returning from Saudi, but after everything has settled, we want them to know that they have the option to seek re-employment overseas or choose to set up their own business here,” pahayag ni Baldoz.


Nabatid na ang crackdown laban sa mga illegal migrant sa Saudi Arabia ay nakaapekto sa mahigit 12,000 Pinoy.


Bagamat kailangan ng mga illegal migrant na magtrabaho para sa kanilang pamilya, dapat nilang lisanin ang Kingdom upang hindi maaresto at makulong.


Nabatid mula sa grupong Migrante na may 15 OFW na ang naaresto noong Nobyembre 6 mula sa libu-libong undocumented foreign worker na dinakip ng Saudi authorities.
