Nanawagan kahapon sa gobyerno ang mga pampublikong guro na maagang ibigay ang kanilang Christmas bonus upang makapagabot sila ng tulong sa mga biktima ng bagyong ‘Yolanda.’
“The devastation brought about by the super typhoon is really heart-breaking and calls for us to immediately extend assistance to the victims,” sabi ni Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) Philipines National President Benjie Valbuena.
Sinabi ni Valbuena na si Pangulong Benigno S. Aquino III ay dapat na kumilos “for the immediate release of the bonus and the P10,000 performance enhancement incentive of the public school teachers and government employees in the affected areas so that they will have something to use.”
Umapela rin ang grupo sa Government Social Insurance Services (GSIS) para magkaloob ang ahensiya ng special loan program at paluwagan ang loan obligation ng mga biktima ng kalamidad.
“These will serve as a good start, although these won’t be enough, for the teachers and government employees to stand from this heart breaking condition,” sabi ni Valbuena.
Hinimok din ng ACT Philippines ang kanilang mga kapwa guro, mga estudyante at ang publiko na makiisa sa relief operations.
Inilunsad kamakailan ng grupo ang relief operation drive nito at nanawagan sa lahat ng guro at empleyado ng paaralan na magbigay ng kahit kakaunting halaga mula sa kanilang mga suweldo upang ibigay sa mga biktima ng bagyo. Tumatanggap din ang grupo ng in kind-donations, gaya ng pagkain, gamot, gamot, damit, gamit sa bahay, school supplies, at maging pera.
Ang drop off center ay matatagpuan sa tanggapan nito sa Teachers’ Center, Dipolog corner Mines Streets sa Vasra, Quezon City.
